My Testimony

Steve Stevenson

My testimony is 65 years in the making.  Growing up I used to go to church with my grandmother, aunts and uncles, but it never was a high priority.  My parents were not Christians.    So, when I left high school and joined the Marine Corp, I was making my way through life as I had other priorities.  Now that I look back, I had everything backwards.  Having God in my life should have been my only priority.

My life, my marriage, and my career in the Corp would have been so different.  God disciplines the ones He loves.  Believing the Word has helped me to understand so many good and bad things that happened in my life and that everything is possible with God.  It’s never too late to come to the Lord to humble myself, and get on my knees, and thank the Lord for all He has done for me and my family.  I was predestined to come to the Lord and Savior at this time.

My father accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior on his death bed and found peace.  I admired my father growing up.  He taught me many things to help me get along in the world.  I loved and admired him more when he accepted the Lord.  I have come to admire my Father in heaven even more.  By learning and loving the Lord, I can overcome the world by believing and putting the Word of the Lord in action in my life.

My grandmother was a very wise woman.  She gave me options.  I had the freedom to make the choices in my life. When you get along in years as I have and look through the eyes of the Lord, I can see so much clearer that my choices were not so good.  You are in a time out, and the time to reflect is now, not years from now.  Trust in the Lord and you will be put on the right journey of endless possibilities, and more blessings than you can count.
