“Life Above Reproach, Discipleship Program”

My Testimony

I was born in a broken household where drugs and alcohol were used.  I am the youngest of eight children; three sisters and five brothers.  As a child, I was abandoned by my father and suffered from neglect.  I felt hopeless, lonely, and insecure.  These feelings brought low self-esteem that I tried to cover with a violent attitude.

At the age of twelve, I began to use drugs and participated in criminal behavior. I became selfish, manipulative, and prideful.  The gospel message appeared in my life at the same time.  God had started to so a work in my life.  As a youngster who was hurt and resentful, my rebelliousness didn’t allow the seed to be rooted in my heart.  As a result of my poor choices, I ended up murdering a man.   It was then that I cried out to the Lord Jesus Christ.

For many years, in my Christian walk, I was warm in my relationship with Christ; and for the last three years, God has used many brothers to speak to me.  Celebrate Recovery is one of the groups God used to make my life straight with Him.  Now the blessing I received from the “Life Above Reproach” discipleship program is something that has created a new level of fellowship with my brothers and revealed my real role in church.
