“Step-By-Step”

For the Youth,

My name is Marcus Bennett.  I have written to you before concerning “How I met a Man from Glory,” and how God saved me.

Since I last wrote to you, that same man from Glory (Jesus) has been discipling me or teaching me through the program of “Life Above Reproach.”  I am being matured or grown up in three important areas of my life: my thoughts, speech, and actions.  This is being done in my life for the purpose of being a good example of the Gospel in my home, community, work, and church.  After participating in the basic group of “Life Above Reproach,” I have learned the meaning of being accountable for my behavior concerning my thoughts, speech, and actions.  First, I consider whether they were positive or negative toward God, then toward the brothers in the group.  This teaching is for the purpose of learning how to govern and live my life in a godly manner in the presence of all men.

After graduating from the basic class, God had put it in the heart of our coordinator to offer me the opportunity to facilitate the next group of “Life Above Reproach,” and I accepted.  As a facilitator, God was maturing me in the area of service and leadership. I was being taught responsibility.  I developed in the area of prayer, being prepared, study habits, and how to relate to people individually and collectively.  I believe the most important lesson learned is that in order for anyone to become an effective leader, one must learn how to follow effectively.  I also learned as a follower, servant, student or employee that my attitude and behavior must match as I submit myself to any teacher, boss, pastor or local church for the purpose of performing any assignment, task, job or area of ministry needed.

I just want to encourage you all to get involved in a discipleship program in the local church discipleship program.  I would like you to experience for yourself the same spiritual growth that God is doing in my life and what God desires to do in your life as well.  I also want to appeal to the hearts who do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be Lord over your life so that you may receive forgiveness for your sins.  Then you too can start the process of discipleship in your life, bringing about that maturity needed to live a life above reproach.

It is my prayer that those of you who are in the faith to continue to grow; and my prayer is also for those who are not in the faith to become part of the body of Christ so that you too may grow also.

Read 2 Peter 3:1-18

God bless you,

Brother Marcus
