LIFE ABOVE REPROACH

Testimony of Charles Nickell

My prayer at the beginning of this class was that I would experience the presence of God, the love of Christ, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Over the last eight months, I have experienced profound spiritual growth.  I would dedicate the morning reading of our prayer log to praying for friends, family, strangers, and myself.  Prayer and Bible study are now a natural part of my morning.  This is my duty to God and humanity.

I have become more honest with myself and others, knowing that just as I learn from others’ painful experiences, others can learn from me.  I’m more conscious of my thoughts, words, and deeds.  I’ve become more appreciative for all the time and effort that Mondo puts into his prayer, study, and teaching.  This inspires me to look for where I can serve most effectively to those most hurting.  My close Brother Steve has taught me patience and tolerance, and the need to allow others to grow at their own speed.

I’ve learned to speak more effectively and share what is most important; and in doing so, I have purged myself of some of the secrets that have kept me sick.

Overall, I have grown to the point where my main focus in life is no longer how I can prosper and be successful, but what I need to do in order to please the Lord and edify Christ’s church.  Despite what I personally want, I open myself up to the cleansing and overpowering of the Holy Spirit that I may grow in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.  I pray that God may increase my courage in delving into the deepest and darkest parts of myself using the light of Christ and that I may minister to others who, like me, feel that they have gone too far.  I now know I am loved and that I have been set free!
