Greetings Young Men and Women,

I first want to thank God for the opportunity of participating in the Life Above Reproach Program.  This discipleship program has provided for me a safe place to share intimate details of my life, inner struggles, as well as personal achievements.  So, it is with great humility that I get to share this experience with you to encourage you that God can and will provide a safe place for you also.

The Life Above Reproach Program teaches the importance of accountability, first to God’s Word and then to the men in your group.  This accountability helps to produce godly character in the presence of the group as well as in our social structure.  This character is made known through how one applies the Word of God in the family, church, society, and work.  It also teaches the importance of prayer because prayer is our means of communicating with God which is the prerequisite of all relationships.  We know that when things get tough, overwhelming or doubtful that these are the moments in which we should run to God for comfort, strength, guidance, and for the answer that we are looking for.  What I have come to know is that in going to God in prayer, my faith is being strengthened day by day.  It is known that God is in control of all things; and by trusting Him in the midst of any particular trial, He will see me through.  I have come to learn that it is the men and women of God that He uses to usher us through and to help us navigate this life.  That brings me to the importance of having accountability and a prayer partner, so that person may walk with us, talk with us, listen to us, pray with us, correct us, encourage us, and comfort us.  It is in the outreach to the family that God begins to disciple His children; it is within the church family that we are nurtured and cared for; and, it’s all for the Glory of God!

It is my prayer for you all that if you have a relationship with God, you will find a support group or person that you trust to confide in so that God can use those times to grow you up into godly men and women for His glory.  If you do not have a relationship with God, seek Him and you shall find Him; but until then, find a friend or support group.  I have to share with you that true change is spiritual, and it is only found in the person of Jesus Christ.
