~ Testimony ~

Over 2 years ago, I really started reading the Bible; and every day, it became harder for me to put it down.  Morning, noon, and night I would find myself pouring over the things that captivated me and I came to the realization that God was listening to the things that I was trying to answer, or find answers to, in His Words.  I knew then that the Word of God had witnessed to me the things I needed from the Word.

My life changed and I knew why and I thanked and still thank the Lord for having mercy on me all though my life.  I am 61 years old and God has continued to show me mercy.  Even with the 25-to-life-sentence that I received when I was 37 years old, God has been the constant presence that has kept me from my stupidity.

I was offered 2 years to plead guilty and with two strikes my sentence would have been 4 years.  I rejected the offer in 1996-97 and chose to go to trial over the objections of my family, my friends, and my private attorney.  For over 20 years I thought, well, God put me away all these years to teach me a lesson.  Once I opened the Bible and He opened my mind, I realized God did not do this to me.  He saw the stupid decisions on top of numerous others that I have made and He showed me mercy by guiding all these events so He would have time to talk to me; and I listened, and words cannot say enough.
