Life Above Reproach

By:  James Alexander

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior in March 2012.  I was lost, broken, and in a very dark place—mentally, morally and spiritually.  I was lost.  Until one day in March, I asked a gentleman who was always respectful towards me no matter how harsh I was with him, how he could smile every day and never get irritated?  He asked me if I wanted what he had?  Thinking I had everything to gain and mothering to lose, I said, “ yes.”  He said, “alright,” and he took his hat off, got on his knees, and asked me to join him.  Then he put his head down, closed his eyes, and with his hand on my shoulder he prayed for me.  He asked me if I would accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I said, “yes.”  I repeated the prayer asking Jesus to be my Lord and Savior and accepted him in my heart and soul.  When I opened my eyes, my life changed!  It was no longer pitch black all around me, but there was a pin head of light in front of me which has grown little by little.

With Jesus in my heart, my faith grows stronger every day because the new path that I’m on with God makes this journey a blessing, not a curse.
