My Personal Testimony

By James T. Mayberry Sr

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV)

6) Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

First let me begin by thanking God in Jesus’ name for life itself.  He allowed the brothers to come together after a few years off due to the covid outbreak.  Again, I thank God for the release of some of the brothers who have been paroled.

As I sit here pondering what I would like to say, there are so many things going through my mind. I have truly been blessed from walking with Jesus especially when I felt sick from covid.  Before I go any farther, the scripture 1Peter 5:6-7 has become my life’s verses.  I have come to know Jesus as a personal Savior, and I am a witness that when one humbles himself and takes the back seat and allow the Lord to lead, all things will work out just fine.  When one just gives whatever problem to the Lord, as scripture says, cast all your cares upon Him for the cares for me, for you; He will work it out!

When I started this journey 21 years ago, I never thought that I would live to get to a parole hearing; and I used to not ever talk about getting out.  I didn’t think I would live to see 2054, which was the year that my board hearing was scheduled.  But by the grace of God, I will have my parole hearing in the next 12 months, July 2024!  God has taken 30 years and removed them all because He is the Lord of my life! There is so much more that He has done in my life!  BUT what is so beautiful is that in the same way He has blessed me, He will bless someone else. All that is required is just give those problems to Him—cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you!
