LIVING  THE  GOOD  LIFE

By Jeffrey Ames

YOU CAN HAVE FUN AND BE HAPPY. . .

EVEN NOW AS YOU FOLLOW THE RULES!

When I was a kid, I thought that obeying rules and listening to my mom were keeping me from having fun.  My mom would not let me run about like a lot of other kids and she often had me doing chores around the house.  I complained that it was like being in prison.  As a teenager, I tried to get away with whatever I could.  I cut corners, fudged the truth, and looked for the easy way out of things so that I could do what I wanted.

HOW VERY, VERY WRONG I WAS!

I now know the rules I despised as a kid were intended to help me develop life skills and principles I would need later.  But because I thought I knew better I missed out on the lessons.  These skills and principles would have enabled me to actually have a good, rewarding, easy, and “un” life.  But because I cut corners, I missed out on most of the very joy I desired.

SADLY, I JUST DIDN’T KNOW. . .

AND I WOULDN’T LISTEN!

Without knowing it, I ran from the training that would have given me the goodness of life I so desperately wanted.

IT’S GONNA BE A LONG LIFE.

When you think about it, the length of years you will live is amazing ØØØ 80, 90, or even 100 years!

Because you’re going to be around for a while, having peace and goodness is so very important – right?  Who wants to live many years being miserable?

I’M PAYING FOR IT NOW!

Don’t be like me.  In prison for over 40 years.  It isn’t fun.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR

Do the rest of your life a favor:  take advantage of learning, obeying the rules, and doing the right thing.  Do it now, so you can live the good life and have joy.

P.S.

The ultimate joy is sound in the Lord Jesus Christ.
