My Testimony

So, I have a really weird job.  I get paid to deliberately manipulate the minds and emotions of the guys in my drug counseling groups. They are trying to get over the damage from their past and need a little help.

I was hearing? a bunch of inspirational posters around our classroom and they asked why I was hanging a bunch of inspirational posters around our classroom, and they asked why I was hanging them up.  So, I told them the truth, “I’m trying to deliberately manipulate you.  I want to get some good thoughts in your head.” You would think they would get ticked off at someone admitting he was openly trying to manipulate them, but they were happy about it.  It turns out, they want some good thoughts in their heads too!

There are enough people throwing negative waves at us and trying to tear us down, and sometimes we start to believe their lies.  So, here are some simple truths to keep in mind, some good thoughts for your head.

Your life is just beginning!

Amazing things are waiting for you!

God Loves you just like you are!

I care deeply about you!

You are more powerful than you know!

You are going to be happy!

You are going to be loved!

Joy is a choice. You have the right to choose it!

These things are true!  You don’t have to do anything to make them come true.  They already are.  The beauty comes when you allow yourself to accept them as true, to know in your heart that nothing can take them away.  It’s not just some mind trick, just a simple matter of turning away from the lies that try to push you down.
