Living Above Reproach

God is good first and foremost!  I just want to thank the facilitators, Mondo and Steve, for inviting me to this workshop.  What I got from this class is reassurance of love from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through His Word!

At one point in my life, I was lost in the world of deceit.  The gang life style had me; at the age of fourteen, I formed a gang.  It was all about living up to the standards of the so called “script” which was handed down to me.  This in turn led me to 15 years to life term at the early age of 18 for taking the life Mr. Phillip Childs.  I had the ‘I don’t care’ attitude for a long time because I felt in my heart that there wasn’t a need for change.  My mind set was twisted in a real way.  Keeping it “crippin” was my only focus.  But still again, God is good!!

My ‘aha’ moment was about 15 years ago while I was in the hole serving a shoe term. God placed wisdom in my Mothers heart to talk to me about my behavior—past and present.  In a nut shell, she challenged me to change my life.  The conviction automatically hit me to where it was truly felt, so my journey started then.  It hasn’t been easy, but I understand today that God took me through obstacles.  Not just in my faith, but in my discipline overall.  I understand today that faith without works is dead.  My actions have to line up with my faith; and that’s how this class has reassured me both through reading and through fellowshipping with the group!  Weekly reading and being able to share my thoughts helped my discipline in many ways.  I am grateful for this class because it reassured God’s Love for me as well as helping me to love others.
